It is important to note that all foreigners traveling to Turkey need to obtain some form of visa before making any travel arrangements to arrive in the country. The Turkish government offers different types of Turkey tourists visas to people depending on the specific reasons they have for visiting the country. However, Irish nationals are eligible for the Turkey eVisa and can easily apply for their electronic visa online.
Turkey eVisa Requirements for Irish Citizens
Ireland is one of the 100 countries whose citizens are able to apply for and obtain the Turkish eVisa. However, the Turkish government has set Turkey eVisa requirements that Irish citizens traveling to Turkey must meet in order to ensure a smooth visa application process. These requirements include:
- Having a passport with a validity of at least 150 days from the date of arrival in Turkey.
- Having a valid email address
- Having valid debit/credit card information.
Travelers are advised to make sure their passport will have the required validity for traveling to Turkey, otherwise they may risk having their visa application rejected. Irish travelers may even need to consider renewing their passport before making any travel arrangements. This may require the traveler to add additional time to their preparations for traveling to Turkey.
How to Apply for a Turkey eVisa for Irish Citizens
Once the Irish traveler has determined that they meet all the necessary requirements to apply for the Turkey eVisa, they can begin the application process. The eVisa application simply asks that each applicant enters their personal details such as name, date of birth, and country of citizenship. Irish applicants must also enter certain passport information.
The applicant will also need to provide a valid email address where the eVisa for Turkey will be sent once the application has been approved. There is also a fee associated with processing the eVisa application which will be deducted from the debit/credit card information that the applicant provides in their application.
Traveling to Turkey from Ireland with the Turkey eVisa
After the applicant has entered all the required information in the eVisa application form, they will have the opportunity to review the information before submitting it for processing. It is really important to fill out the application as accurately as possible because any discrepancies between the information provided on the form and that shown on the applicant’s passport can render the application void. The applicant may then have to re-submit a new application with the correct information.
If the Irish traveler’s eVisa application has been approved, they will receive their Turkish eVisa at the email that they provided on the eVisa application form. The traveler is advised to keep a soft copy of the eVisa and take a printed copy to present at the Turkish airport. The Turkey eVisa will have to be presented along with other travel documents to the Turkish Immigration Control officials at the Turkish port of entry.
Once approved, Irish nationals are granted a multiple-entry eVisa. The Turkey eVisa for Irish citizens allows them a stay of up to 90 days in the country.
